Meet the Crew 2025 – Thomas

Among the long-standing members, Thomas Avisse is a quiet but essential figure in the BCC family. Around since 2012 (maybe even earlier), he discovered the BCC by stumbling upon the Palais de Tokyo website. Since then, he’s remained a loyal part of the crew—even if he's taken a step back from fire in recent years.

💡 What does BCC mean to him?
"Friends, nonsense, good times, and people with ambition 🙂"

👥 His connection to the crew
He’s not naming names to avoid jealousy, but anyone who's met Thomas knows: he's one of those members whose presence really matters, even from afar. A friend, a veteran, and a bringer of good vibes and brilliant lights.

🏛️ Palais de Tokyo, Fire Photography & shows
Thomas shows up “rarely, when motivated”... and what does he get from it?
👉 “Beer.”
That says it all. Fire isn’t much part of his current life, but lasers and other technical toys are very much his thing. Shows? “Not so much anymore,” unless it’s the anniversary — then he might bring out a few surprises.

🎯 Plans for 2025?
Nothing locked in — deadlines and him don’t get along too well — but he’s always exploring new ways to work with light and tech.

A memorable anecdote?
His very first Palais, back in October 2011:

"There were only nunchakus that night. Maybe 5 or 6 people: Gaet, Johan, Max (?), Guillaume... No poi, no other props. I left thinking: it was cool, but too bad they only spin nunchakus at these meetups — I wish I could spin poi with others."
It was a planetary alignment kind of night — he’s never seen anything like it since.
